Slurp, Gulp and Start on Sounds
Poetry by Chris Lorensson

About the Project
Between 1995 and 2005, I wrote nearly two hundred poems—work that captured my early voice and my search for meaning through language. In 2007, I painstakingly designed the collection into a book, but after a hard drive crash, all the files were lost. Only a single proof copy survived, sitting quietly on my shelf for more than a decade.
Now, the poems are coming back to life. Through my podcast, Slurp, Gulp and Start on Sounds, I’m reading each of the 196 poems aloud—inviting listeners to experience the collection as it unfolds, one voice at a time.
This is just the beginning. A new edition of the book is on its way, redesigned and reimagined. Subscribe to the podcast to follow along as the poems find their voice again and to be the first to know when the book is ready to return to the world.
